Further update on my ongoing problems with the 2016 AT DCT. The bike is still at the Honda dealership, as the diagnosis has now changed from faulty switch gear to a malfunctioning and faulty ECU. Honda are now needing to totally replace the ECU along with associated new ignition keys etc.
The thing to watch on your particular bike is how the DCT performs. are the gear changes as smooth as before both up and down the gears and when you press the button to change from neutral to D mode. if you notice differences in DCT behaviour that causes you any concern, then change the oil back to the Honda specified 10w30.

At its introduction in 2016, the Africa Twin CRF1000 came with 90/90 R21 front wheel and a rear tyre size of 150/70 R18. Being an adventure bike, the Africa Twin comes with tubed spoked wheels not cast and was fitted with Dunlop D610’s which worked pretty well in the dry on the tarmac, but were universally hated on any other surface and conditions.
747 posts · Joined 2018. #3 · Sep 18, 2020. I just replaced the OEM Yuasa AGM battery on my '17 with a generic AGM replacement for $100. Yuasas were $150. Call me cheap, but lithiums are way too high, and I'm not married to brand names.
If you use the Honda shop manual to verify the spacers on the rear will the manual is WRONG at least the 2016 manual was. They go on the opposite side of which the manual shows in the exploded view. Edit: Hat spacer goes on left (sprocket) side and the plain straight spacer goes on the right (brake disc) side.
